Research on Layang Layang Museum

There are three kinds of industries. They are: primary industry, secondary industry and tertiary industry. An industry that provides raw materials for other uses is known as primary industry. (E.g. farming, fishing, forestry and mining) A secondary industry converts primary products into manufactured goods. (E.g. manufacturing and construction) While tertiary industry provides services to people or other industries. (E.g. services and tourism)
Therefore, the Layang Layang Museum falls under the tertiary industry.

Research on Oil palms

Basically ,oil palm is a plantation agriculture ,a form of commercial farming whereby crops are grown for sale.It requires a large area of lands and a troprical climate ,countries that lie between Tropic of Cancer and Tropic of Capricorn (e.g Malaysia) .Those are countries which recieve high anuual temperature and rainfall.

Also,a large amount of capital and large labour are required in terms of building roads, buying machinery and building factories to process the crops harvested from the plantations, including fertilisers and pesticides as crops uses up the nutrients from the land quickly and to prevent the pest from destroying the plantation, therefore,it is used large quantities .As for labour, large number are needed due to the large size of plantation.Hence ,the output per unit is usually low since it covers a wide area of land.

Reflection on Layang Layang Museum

The kite museum fascinates me the most. I never got to see such big n authentic kites in my life. The kites each has their own unique designs and the way they are shaped. The designs are all so magnificent and carefully made. There are many types of kites there. My favourite kite there is the Wau Jala Budi as it shaped like a butterfly! When the tour guide said the word 'Wau' i heard it as 'wow'. I was curious 'wow'? Whats that? Then i realise the word 'Wau' means kite in Dutch.

I never knew kites have a history too! It was said that during that time the kites were used for competition to see whose kite can stay in the air for the longest time and the more the kite is perpendicular to the ground the more points earned. However now kites are used as leisure activities!!

Reflection on Oil Palm

Personally ,i felt that the place where the oil palm factory were located were muddy and had all our shoes dirty .It also produce an unpleasant smell.I could remember vividly that the muddy floor was placed with alot of oil palms for them to dry under the hot sun .The factory could be seen producing with alot of smokes at the other end and tractors were used to move the heavy oil palms from one place to the other by workers. It can be seen that doing those work was not an easy job as workers could be seen sweating profusely with a towel around their neck. We were also been able to interact and came closer with the fruit when it was pass down to us after our instructer gave an introduce of it .There was also a canteen located nearby with snacks and bottle of plain water , including washroom to accomodate us as well as the workers at there .The canteen strictly restrict anyone from wearing any footwear and stepping into it.The snacks include curry puff and kueh.I felt that they were very considerate in terms of providing us foods and water to replenish ourselves after standing under the sun for quite some time.We were also able to get a 2nd serving to bring back for our parents or if we were still hungry. The workers and staffs at there were very amiable and helpful towards us. Overall,i felt that it was really a great experience for me .

Research on Sultan Abu Bakar Museum

Sulatan Abu Bakar Museum is an example of the tertiary industry in which the museum is a tourist destination . The tertiary industry is split into two main categories , The first is made up of companies that are in the business of making money , such as those in the financial industries . The second comprises of the non-profit segmant which includes services to the public such as state education . In this case , the museum is part of the second segmant of the tertiary industry . The museum is there to showcase the state of Johor's history and heritage . And in turn , the museum does not profit from it .

Reflection on Sultan Abu Bakar Museum

Our first destination in Johor was to visit the intriguing Sultan Abu Bakar Museum . The building was inspired by ideas from Sultan Abu Bakar . Personally , i felt that the museum's architecture was clearly of the malay design as there were simple patterns for the tiling . The tiling sort of reminded me of the roof of various kampung that can be found in Johor .
There were two rooms of the musuem that i could vividly remember of . The first of the two were the traditional malay weapons room a.k.a. the Kris room . The room was filled with various types of kris which the guide said it was believed to hold a powerful spirit . He also said that the kris could be found in every household back then . It was used as a form of defence . To me , i felt that it would have been really cool if had owned one !
The second room was the hunting room . The room showcased the various animals that the king had hunted for . The animals included elephants tusks , tiger skin and also rhino horns . The animals which were hunted for signifies power . So the Sultan wanted to show his followers that he was a powerful man that nobody wants to mess with . Personally , i think that the king showed his superiority in a bad way . Instead of killing the animals , he should have done something else as the animals are not in wrong to be killed for that reason .
